The Ophthalmic Medical Technician program provides education and training that will prepare students for entry into the field of ophthalmic technology. Graduates of the Ophthalmic Medical Technician Program assist patients with their visual needs and play a critical role in the detection, and medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases. The Ophthalmic Medical Technician program is a 60-credit online and hybrid program with clinical rotations near the student’s home location. In four semesters, students will obtain an Associate of Applied Science degree and will be prepared to enter the work force as a valuable member of the eye care team.
This GMLN Military Bridge Program is offered to members of the United States military who have completed training at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. It is a transfer agreement between METC and Alexandria Tech

Some credits may require completion of a course exam with a score of at least 70%, see Degree Plan for details. Credit determinations were made using current curriculum course dates. To earn a degree from one of our Minnesota State colleges or universities, a minimum number of credits must be taken through the institution, typically 30 credits for bachelor's degrees, 15 credits for associate degrees, and 1/3 of the total credits for diplomas and certificates. Some programs may vary. Additional college credit may be granted for other military courses with a Joint Service Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Transcript, courses from other colleges/universities upon review of an official transcript, and ACE Military Guide recommendations.
