No-Cost Refresher Courses

Has it been a while since you studied math or science? Have you had a break in your education due to deployment or other reasons? Do you wonder if you are ready to enroll in a college-level course?

No-cost online modules are available to veterans and service members, intended as "just in time" refreshers in math, science, and English. Created by college faculty who are experts in these academic areas, GMLN refresher courses are great tools to help dust off your academic abilities, critical thinking, and study skills to ensure a smoother transition to college-level coursework.

What refresher courses are:

  • Available to military service members and veterans at no cost.
  • Offered 100% online, and can be completed at your own pace.
  • Much shorter than a college course. You can determine your comfort level with the material in these low-pressure modules without worrying about grades or exams.
  • No strings attached! You do not need to apply to any college or university to take advantage of refresher courses.

What refresher courses are not:

  • Refresher courses do not award college credit.
  • Refresher courses do not guarantee placement in a specific college-level course.
  • Refresher courses do not substitute for remedial coursework if needed.
  • Refresher courses do not guarantee academic success in a specific college-level course.

Your comfort level with material in the refresher courses may be an indicator of whether you may benefit from additional college courses in these areas. Regardless of ability or prior knowledge, if you choose to further your education, accessing academic support opportunities encourages greater participation and increases your chances of success in challenging courses.
