The Healthcare Administrative Specialist 45-credit diploma prepares students to be highly trained office specialists who are accountable for the coordination of the day-to-day medical office roles of patient appointment scheduling, telephone communications, medical record maintenance, healthcare data analysis, and patient billing processes. Successful healthcare administrative assistants have exceptional communication skills and display a high degree of professionalism in their work.

This GMLN Military Bridge Program is offered to members of the United States military who have completed training at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. It is a transfer agreement between METC and Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC).

To earn a degree from one of our Minnesota State colleges or universities, a minimum number of credits must be taken through the institution, typically 30 credits for bachelor's degrees, 15 credits for associate degrees, and 1/3 of the total credits for diplomas and certificates. Some programs may vary. Additional college credit may be granted for other military courses with a Joint Service Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Transcript, courses from other colleges/universities upon review of an official transcript, and ACE Military Guide recommendations.
