This 40-credit diploma prepares graduates for a career in medical coding or to advance their studies with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in medical coding. The Medical Coding programs at NTC provide comprehensive training using nationally recognized coding systems to classify procedures and diagnoses related to medical treatment. The diploma program includes coursework in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, U.S. Health Care systems and medical billing and insurance. Medical coders are needed for patient account management, medical billing and insurance claims processing.

This GMLN Military Bridge Program is offered to members of the United States military who have completed training at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. It is a transfer agreement between METC and Northwest
Technical College (NTC).

To earn a degree from Northwest Technical College (NTC), a minimum of credits must be taken through NTC. Additional college credit may be granted for other military courses with a Joint Service Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Transcript, courses from other colleges/universities upon review of an official transcript, and ACE Military Guide recommendations.
